First Field Trip

We will be heading to Howard's Apple Orchard in Catalina on Sept. 15th. We will be driving in a district van. Each child will be able to buy three apples for $1.00. Hopefully our class t-shirts will have arrived by the time of the field trip, and all the students will be able to wear the new shirts.

The field trip will kick-off our next unit--Nutrition. On Friday (9/9/11) we will complete out five senses unit. Please continue to review the five senses with your child and start to talk about the different food groups.

A Great Start to the 2011-2012 School Year!

We have been in school for a little over a week, and the class is becoming much more familiar with the routines in the classroom. There have been some big changes for the Shining Stars. First off we have a new classroom. We are now next door in room 28. Moving next door has been wonderful, because we now have a Smartboard to use throughout the day to add to the hands on learning in all subject areas!

Ask your child how he or she likes using the Smartboard. Each day every student comes up to the Smartboard numerous times to display his or her understanding in the particular subject we are involved in.

August 24 at 6:00 is the parent orientation for our class. It starts in the cafeteria, and then parents will move to room 28. This will be a very informative meeting. I really hope you will make an effort to come! Our class can earn a PIZZA PARTY if we have 85% attendance or higher. Help us earn our party please!
